Vertical Type Scrubber

VERTICAL TYPE SCRUBBER

A Vertical Type Scrubber is an air pollution control device used to remove dust particles, harmful gases, fumes, and other contaminants from industrial exhaust gases by bringing them into contact with a scrubbing liquid, usually water. It consists of a vertically mounted vessel in which contaminated gas comes into contact with the liquid, allowing pollutants to be captured and removed before the cleaned gas is discharged into the atmosphere.

VERTICAL TYPE SCRUBBER - DESCRITION

MAIN COMPONENTS

1.  Vertical scrubber vessel
2  Gas inlet and outlet
3.  Spray nozzles and liquid distribution header
4.  Scrubbing liquid tank or sump
5.  Mist eliminator
6.  Circulation pump and piping, if required
7.  Drain and inspection openings
8.  Supporting structure

WORKING PRINCIPLE

1.  Dust-laden or contaminated gas enters the scrubber through the gas inlet.
2.  Scrubbing liquid is sprayed through nozzles inside the vertical vessel.
3.  The gas comes into contact with the liquid droplets, which capture dust particles and absorb soluble gases.
4.  Contaminants and liquid collect at the bottom of the scrubber.
5.  A mist eliminator removes entrained liquid droplets from the cleaned gas.
6.  The treated gas exits through the outlet at the top of the scrubber.
